Croce di Mezzo 

For over thirty years, the family-run estate belonging to Barbara and Roberto Nannetti and their mother Fiorella Vannoni has produced Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, Rosso di Montalcino DOC, a limited quantity of extra-virgin olive oil, Grappa di Brunello and Rosolio from rose petals.  Since its birth in 1971, the winery has always distinguished itself through its constant search for quality, obtaining many international acknowledgements in the wine world and has been prized internationally for the quality of its products.  The beautiful property is located in the southern portion of the famed Montalcino region on the road from Montalcino to magnificent Sant’Antimo’s Abbey.  The estate is 47 hectares in size with 12 dedicated to the vineyards.

The grapes used for the Rosso di Montalcino are a selection of the quality vineyards on the eastern side of the property at an altitude of approximately 480 meters above sea level.

Vinification and Maturation

The Rosso di Montalcino (100% Sangiovese) is able to express the characteristic of this special wine with an appreciated freshness and bouquet. The harvest, done by hand, occurs typically in September when the grapes are fully mature.  The fermentation is completed using temperature controlled tanks and then the Rosso will age for 10 months in oak barrels before being released into the market.

Color:  intense ruby red

Bouquet:  red mixed berries, spices and fresh tobacco

Flavor:  fresh, ripe fruit, cherries and persistent mouth feel

Serving Suggestions:   roasted white and red meats, stews and semi-aged cheese

Brunello di Montalcino DOCG

Vinification and Maturation

The Brunello di Montalcino (100% Sangiovese) is the crown jewel of the estate. Typically the grapes, from the best vineyard on the property, ripen slowly and steadily.  The wine is unique because it is very approachable young but also will age in the cellar extremely well due to its great structure and balance.  The harvest, done by hand, occurs typically in September when the grapes are fully mature.  The fermentation is completed using temperature controlled tanks and then the Brunello will age for 30 months in Slovenian oak barrels before resting in the bottle for another 6 months.

Brunello Di Montalcino Riserva  

Vinification and Maturation

This wine is 100% from Sangiovese Grosso. After harvest grapes are fermented for 21 days and aged for at lease six months.
