BRICCHI ASTIGIANI WINERY

Poderi dei Bricchi Astigiani is the Gaslini Alberti family winery in Piedmont, which complements its well-known wine estate in Tuscany called Badia di Morrona.  The vineyards are located in the municipalities of Isola d'Asti, Vigliano and Castelnuovo Calcea.  All share excellent exposure combined with the geological composition of the land, making it the optimal production environment for the grapes.  The focal point of the estate’s production is Barbera D’Asti and it creates the wine with a dedication to excellence.

BRICCO DEL PERG DOC

Viticultural Details:

The Bricco del Perg is a 100% Barbera Superiore, produced using the best selection from all of the vineyards.  High quality grapes, with excellent concentration of juice, are hand-picked from vines that have very low yields.  The vines are trained with the Guyot cultivation system.

Vinification and Maturation:

The harvest typically commences in late September and the wine, after fermentation and maceration, will age nicely in French Oak barrique for 12 months before refining for another 10 months in bottle.  The wine is best after 4-6 years from its vintage date.

Flavor: Structured and harmonic with freshness to the palate

BRICCHI ASTIGIANI - BRICCO SAN GIOVANNI DOC

Viticultural Details:

This special blend combines the wonderful Barbera of the estate with Merlot, typically with an allocation of 60% Barbera d’Asti and 40% Merlot.  The wine is named after the vineyard the grapes are grown in, a south facing hill filled with vines trained using the Guyot system.

 

Vinification and Maturation:

The harvest typically commences in late September and the wine, after fermentation and maceration, is aged solely in stainless steel, preserving the natural essence of both grapes.

Color: Ruby red

Bouquet: Small red fruits and herbs

Flavor: Fresh but full bodied with softness in the whole mouth

Serving Suggestions: Good with meat, fresh cheese and traditional Piedmont pasta
